Postcards from Carcosa is a short story by Marcel Orie. Originally published in Dutch magazine Wonderwaan #6; translated to English and republished in Cyaegha #6 (spring 2012).

The story describes the trials of Harry Mezel, an office clerk employed in a ministry dealing with forbidden books and extinct languages. As his sanity slowly crumbles, a one-way trip to Carcosa unfolds.

Here the Carcosa Mythos is traced back to its roots by deriving imagery and ideas from the writings of Joris-Karl Huysmans and Oscar Wilde. Additional inspiration and references comes from authors as diverse as Thomas Ligotti, Mark J. Ruyffelaert, Tom Waits and William S. Burroughs.
