Subsection of The Prophets' Paradise, featuring the clown and Death, comparing their beauty on the basis of the pallor of their faces. The significance, if any, of the 'Green Room' itself is never disclosed, although it may refer to the theatrical green room (see also Theatre). It may be connected in some way to The Green Door. It inspired the poem Alone.
Compare Blue Room and The Mystery of the Yellow Room.
